On the Day - Night Effect and CC to NC Event Rate Ratio Predictions for the SNO Detector

چکیده
Detailed predictions for the D-N asymmetry for the Super-Kamiokande experiment, as well as for the Full Night and Core D-N asymmetries in the solar neutrino induced CC event rate and for the Day, Night and Core ratios of the CC and NC event rates, measured in the SNO experiment, are derived in the cases of the LMA MSW and LOW solutions of the solar neutrino problem. The indicated observables for the SNO experiment are calculated for two values of the threshold (effective) kinetic energy of the final state electron in the CC reaction on deuterium: T e,th = 6.75 MeV and 5.0 MeV. The possibilities to further constrain the regions of the LMA MSW and LOW solutions of the solar neutrino problem by using the forthcoming SNO data on the D-N asymmetry and on the CC to NC event rate ratio are also discussed.

Day - Night Effect Predictions for the SNO Detector
Detailed predictions for the day-night (D-N) asymmetry in the energyintegrated one year signals in the SNO detector in the case of the MSW νe → νμ(τ) and/or νe → νs transition solutions of the solar neutrino problem are presented. The asymmetries in the charged current (CC) and ν − e− elastic scattering (ES) event rates are calculated for both MSW solutions; in the case of the νe → νs transitio...
متن کاملTests of electron flavor conservation with the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory.
We analyze tests of electron flavor conservation that can be performed at the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory ~SNO!. These tests, which utilize B solar neutrinos interacting with deuterium, measure ~1! the shape of the recoil electron spectrum in charged-current ~CC! interactions ~the CC spectrum shape!, and ~2! the ratio of the number of charged-current to neutral current ~NC! events ~the CC/NC r...
متن کاملUpdate of the Solar Neutrino Oscillation Analysis with the 766 Ty KamLAND Spectrum
We investigate the impact of the 766.3 Ty KamLAND spectrum data on the determination of the solar neutrino oscillation parameters. We show that the observed spectrum distortion in the KamLAND experiment firmly establishes ∆m21 to lie in the low-LMA solution region. The high-LMA solution is excluded at more than 4σ by the global solar neutrino and KamLAND spectrum data. The maximal solar neutrin...

متن کاملSolar neutrinos: the SNO salt phase results and physics of conversion
We have performed analysis of the solar neutrino data including results from the SNO salt phase as well as the combined analysis of the solar and the KamLAND results. The best fit values of neutrino parameters are ∆m2 = 7.1 · 10−5 eV2, tan2 θ = 0.40 with the boron flux fB = 1.04. New SNO results strongly disfavor maximal mixing and the h-LMA region (∆m2 > 10−4 eV2) which is accepted now at the ...
